MARY L. HOOKER

Mary Jane Levering Hooker, age 82, died Thursday at the Hermitage in Richmond. Mrs. Hooker is the widow of Walter Zebulon Hooker of Virginia Beach.

She was born in Allentown, Pa., and was a graduate of John Marshall High School in Richmond. She was a past member of the Florence Nightingale Circle of Sheltering Arms Hospital and past board member of St. James's Episcopal Church, The Country Club of Va., the Princess Anne Country Club and the Tuckahoe Woman's Club.

She is survived by a son, Walter Levering Hooker of Richmond, a grandson, Walter Levering Hooker Jr. of Aspen, Colo.; a granddaughter, Lauren Hooker McCarthy of Atlanta; and two brothers, Frederick C. Levering of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Roger L. Levering of Frankfort, Ky.

A graveside service will be held at Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond at 10 a.m. today, Oct. 7. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to the St. James's Building Fund., 1205 W. Franklin St., Richmond, Va. 23220.
