Robert W. Kufleitner, 55, born May 30, 1940, died Oct. 4, 1995, in his home at 3321 Sir Meliot Drive.
He was formerly of Salem, Ohio. He was a retired veteran of the Navy after 20 years active service and served in Reserves until his death. Robert was employed at Norfolk Shipbuilding and Drydock Corporation for 17 years as an outside machinist. He was a member of the Moose Lodge (NU)898, and the local VFW.
Mr. Kufleitner is survived by his wife, Patricia; his mother, Mary of Salem; three brothers, Fred, Matt and Edward, all from Ohio; and two sisters, Rosemary of Ohio, and Mary of Buffalo, N.Y. He also leaves behind two sons, Robert II of Chesapeake, and Raymond John of Salem; his daughter, Elizabeth Katherine, also of Chesapeake; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel, at 2 p.m. Monday by Brother Hardy. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends will be received Sunday at the funeral home from 1 to 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Robert's name to Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters in Norfolk. His passion was helping anyone in need, including his neighbors. He was the handyman of the neighborhood. He was truly loved and respected by all.
