DANIEL R. BIDDLE

AT2 Daniel Rex ``Danny'', ``Bond'' Biddle USN, age 26, of the 4000 block of Weyanoke Drive, Portsmouth, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 1995, due to a Navy helicopter accident in the Atlantic Ocean.

He was born Aug. 29, 1969, in Bremerton, Kitsap County, Washington, and the son of Jerry E. and Luann Bohlmann Biddle. ``Bond'' was the loving husband of Melissa Lynn Salisbury Biddle of the home. During his high school years, Daniel excelled in sports and academic achievements, such as Student Council President and Show Chorus, in sports such as wrestling, cross county and pole vaulting. After graduation he became active in Civic Organizations and kept his athletic build by becoming an avid bicycler. Daniel was also a Naval Air Rescue Swimmer.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa Lynn Salisbury Biddle of the home; one son, Kevin Michael Biddle, also of the home; his parents, Jerry E. and Luann Bohlmann Biddle of Burgoon, Ohio; sister, Tina Marie Biddle and her son, Derek Scott Biggers, both of Kansas, Ohio; two brothers, MM3 Chad Eugene Biddle USN, stationed in Hawaii and Seaman Brad Lewis Biddle, U.S. Coast Guard, stationed in Florida; grandparents, Lewis Bohlmann of Bremerton, Wa., Bonnie Bohlmann of Puyallup, Wash., Sara Salisbury of Sacramento, Calif., Frances Wingard of West Columbia, S. C. and Helen and Reuben Ferguson, also of West Columbia. Daniel also leaves behind great-grandparents, Alvin and Betty Norman of Chulavista, Calif.; father and mother-in-law, John and Betty Salisbury of Yorktown, Va.; sisters-in-law, Patricia Salisbury Calaway of Dunedin, Fla. and Jennifer Webster Biddle of Hawaii. ``Bond 007'' is also survived by a host of friends that include shipmates that will cherish his memory forever. Everyone who knew ``Bond'' knows that his family and friends were his life and will miss his wit and laughter, but he will live on in all of our hearts.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Twiford's Funeral Home, Ghent Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m., and at other times the family will be at the residence on Weyanoke Drive in Portsmouth. Memorial donations may be made to the Children's Hospital of The Kings Daughters, 601 Children's Lane, Norfolk, or to the American Cancer Society, 2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk.
