The Dare County Board of Elections will hold a preliminary hearing at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23, concerning a challenge of Robert V. ``Bobby'' Owens Jr.'s 1993 election to the Dare County Board of Commissioners.
Last month, Bill Stover of Kill Devil Hills alleged that Owens does not live in the district he represents, in violation of state election law. Owens denies the charge.
If the board finds probable cause that Owens is in violation of the law, a full hearing will be held.
The hearing will be held in the Commissioners' Meeting Room at the Dare County Administrative Offices in Manteo. by CNB
