It is by the glory of the Constitution and the American political system that Ross Perot and his group can make their views known.
Major media ``stars'' have deflected the issues of greater importance by using ``sound bites'' and inflammatory statements. When the diversion takes place, the more important issues sit on the back burner.
American apathy toward politics is a major problem. Yet every vote counts. The American people need to make their ``public servants'' do their jobs. We cannot send Mr. Smith to Washington or Richmond and allow him to make his own agenda. He is accountable to the values of the voters who put him in office.
We must remove the smoke screens that have been placed before our eyes. We as a nation cannot keep running away from important issues because they will hurt some or all of us. We are going to be affected in some way or another by what happens in Washington or in Richmond. It is time to roll up our sleeves and get to business.
