SUGGESTIONS SOUGHT ON FUNDING TRANSPORTATION

A public hearing regarding funding for public transportation in Hampton Roads will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 24 in the Brown Hall Auditorium at Norfolk State University.

The joint legislative subcommittee, which was established to study funding for public transportation, will examine the current sources of local funding, identify sources of stable and reliable dedicated funding for public transportation. The subcommittee will also determine the scope of property tax relief taxpayers would realize when dedicated funding sources, other than local general funds, have been identified.

Any one interested in addressing the subcommittee, contact Dawn. B. Smith at the House of Delegates Committee Operations Office at 804-786-7681.
