Andrew MacBlane of Virginia Beach had the top catch in Saturday's open individual segment of the 45th annual Nags Head Surf Fishing Tournament.
Competing in the 10-16 age bracket, he beached a 24-inch puppy drum, also known as red drum or channel bass.
Ryan Oliver of Manteo beached a 12-inch bluefish, the largest chopper, in the same age group.
In the age 6-9 group, the winners were Matt Preston of Nags Head with a 16-inch flounder and Matthew Hanna of Hampton with a 12-inch sea mullet.
Becky Masters of Nags Head had the top catch in the adult division with a 19-inch puppy drum. The biggest speckled trout was 18 3/4 inches and was beached by G.C. Roesch of Norfolk.
Tom Mann of Kill Devil Hills had the biggest sea mullet at 13 inches and Art Beckwith of Kitty Hawk the top croaker at 13 3/4 inches.
The Rising Tides surf fishing team of Nags Head won the two-day team competition Thursday and Friday with 18 scoring fish and 56 points, the lowest winning total ever.
The tournament was hosted by the Nags Head Surf Fishing Club and was headquartered at the Soundside Pavilion.
