FRED M. MCPHERSON

Fred Malcom McPherson, 67, of the 1100 block of Bethel Road, died Oct. 7, 1995, in Chesapeake General Hospital.

Mr. McPherson was born in Scotland County, N.C., and was a member of Chesapeake Church of God. He was retired as a heavy equipment operator from Operating Engineers Local (NU)147. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy E. McPherson; five daughters, Mary E. Sizemore of Chesapeake, Peggy J. Smith of Laurinburg, N.C., Barbara A. Vaden of Virginia Beach, Diana L. Phillips of Chesapeake, Dorothy M. Mosley of Chesapeake; three sons, Fred M. McPherson Jr. of Hampton, William J. McPherson of Virginia Beach and Raymond H. McPherson of Chesapeake; his mother, Rosa Lee Ray of Laurinburg; two sisters, Louise Woods of Laurinburg and Diane Jarman of Jacksonville, N.C.; a brother, Harry Lee McPherson of Laurinburg; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Jack Sawyer. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
