JAMES M. STEWART

James Milton Stewart, son of the late Milton Almer Stewart and Alice Ingram Rawlings of Norfolk, born July 8, 1918, died Oct. 8, 1995, at 2:08 p.m.

He is survived by his wife, the former Rita Linnette Doggett; and two sons, James Milton Stewart Jr. of Rock Hill, S.C., and Benjamin Doggett Stewart of Dallas, Texas. He is also survived by his brother, William Harrison Stewart of Greensboro, N.C. His sister, Mrs. Conley Clark Laster Jr. preceded him in death. He is survived by two grandchildren, Kevin and Sean; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

An alumnus of Virginia Polytechnic Institute, he later served in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters of World War II as a Lt. Commander USNR. He holds numerous heat transfer and plastics technology related patents and was active in his companies until his death. He is former layreader in the Episcopal Church.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., today, Oct. 10, 1995, at Christ Church, Episcopal, Greenville, S.C., with burial in the churchyard. It is respectively requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to York Place, Episcopal Church Home for Children, York S.C. 29745.
