John W. DeAngelis, 47, of Heatherbrook Drive, Toledo, Ohio, died Monday morning, Oct. 9, 1995, in Toledo Hospital. John had been in a coma several years as a result of a brain tumor.
John was born in Norfolk and worked as a business agent more than 10 years for the United Food and Commerce Workers International. John was an accomplished artist and musician. He was a Country and Western singer, taught guitar lessons and was very generous in volunteering his time and talents through the years at different nursing homes.
He was preceded in death, earlier this month, by his mother Celia. He is survived by his daughter, Theresa M. DeAngelis; father, Louis C. DeAngelis; sisters, Mrs. Barbara (James) Hudgins, Stafford, Va., Mrs. Debra (Charlie) Collins, Toledo, Ohio; brother, Louis (Joeann) DeAngelis Jr. of Kansas City, Mo.; nine nieces and nephews; 12 grandnieces and nephews also survive.
There will be no visitation. A private entombment service was held at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery, Sylvania, Ohio. Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church. Arrangements by the Coyle Funeral Home, Toledo.
