Henry Morant, 69, of 336 Fourth Ave., Mt. Pleasant, S.C., died Oct. 7, 1995, in a local hospital. Mr. Morant is a former resident of Norfolk and retired employee of Norfolk and Western Railroad.
Mr. Morant was born in Lane, S.C., and was the son of the late Henry Morant Sr. and Nettie McDowell Morant.
Survivors include his wife, Alma Morant of Mt. Pleasant; daughter, Jocelyn M. Barrington, and son, Bernard Morant, both of Norfolk; foster daughter, Estelle Wright of Mt. Pleasant; son-in-law, Robert M. Barrington of Norfolk; two sisters, Ethel Felder and Esther Smith of Mt. Pleasant; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Anthony Morant.
A funeral will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bethel Gourdine AME Church in Lane, S.C. Burial will be in McKnight Cemetery. Johnson-Halls Funeral Service, 440 Venning St., Mt. Pleasant, S.C. is in charge.
