Johnnie R. Uzzle, 35, of the 2700 block of Grandy Ave., died Oct. 9, 1995, in his residence in Norfolk.
Mr. Uzzle, a retired culinary chef, worked for 23 years. He was born in Norfolk and was a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church, Norfolk.
Survivors include his parents, Mary Uzzle of Norfolk and Robert Holloway of Portsmouth; four sisters, Alice Lambert, Patricia Perry, Lori Uzzle of Norfolk, and Ronell Holloway of Portsmouth; two brothers, Steven Uzzle of Norfolk and Rodney Holloway of Portsmouth; special friends, Edward Parham and Ianya Allen; dear, dear aunt, Margreat Cuffee; and a host of special friends, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in Mount Hermon Baptist Church by the Rev. Steve Lewis. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. He was independent and outspoken in his beliefs, yet a very compassionate and loving person. He touched the lives of all around him and memories of him will forever live on. The remains will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Family and friends will assemble at noon Wednesday for the funeral procession. Hale Funeral Home in charge.
