Down 30-27 with 3:29 left to play, Norview scored two touchdowns for a 40-30 win over Great Bridge on Monday at Chittum Field.
Quarterback James Whitley, who passed for 183 yards and three TDs, returned a Great Bridge punt 77 yards to put the Pilots up 34-30. Dwayne Potts then picked off a Mike Cuddyer pass a minute later and returned it for a TD to ice the game.
Potts put the Pilots (3-2) on the board with 4:34 to play in the first quarter with a 10-yard touchdown run.
The Wildcats (1-5) tied it up with 11:52 to play in the second when Cuddyer hit Daniel Ross with a 19-yard touchdown pass.
Whitley then hooked up with Daniel Martin on a 66-yard TD pass, but Great Bridge fired back on its next possession as Adrian Hughes scored from 5 yards out.
Norview battled back, scoring on its next two possessions when Whitley hit Martin with a 38-yard pass and Hannibal McFarland picked off a Cuddyer pass to set up Potts for a 64-yard TD reception for a 27-15 halftime lead. by CNB
