GET IT RIGHT

Born in Norfolk and raised in Portsmouth, I cringe when I hear one of the TV and radio announcers mispronounce the names of the two oldest cities in South Hampton Roads. Please, no more Nor-FICK and Ports-SMITH!

If they want to pronounce them as the natives do, its NAW-fuk and PORTS-muth. Otherwise they can pronounce them just as they are spelled, like the Yankees do.
