Gordon K. Deafenbaugh, 73, died Oct. 12, 1995, in his residence.
He was a native of Salem, Ohio, and was a member of Bayside Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II and was a retired comptroller for Naval Air Systems Command-Atlantic.
Mr. Deafenbaugh is survived by his wife, Lydia N. Deafenbaugh; daughter, Kandis D. Arrington of Virginia Beach; son, Dr. Martin K. Deafenbaugh of Chesapeake; brother, Charles E. Deafenbaugh of Norfolk; and two grandchildren, Jaime Deafenbaugh and Brad Deafenbaugh, both of Chesapeake.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today by the Rev. Don Wilson in Bayside Baptist Church. Burial will be private and at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the United Parkinson Foundation, 833 W. Washington Blvd., Chicago, Ill., 60607. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is handling arrangements.
