Republican candidates for office in Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Virginia Beach and Suffolk will be honored at a reception by the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce on Oct. 16.
A week later on Oct. 23, a similar reception for Democratic candidates will be held.
Both events will be held at the Holiday Inn Chesapeake, 725 Woodlake Dr., from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Sen. Mark L. Earley of Chesapeake is honorary chairman for the Republican reception and Speaker of the House Thomas W. Moss Jr. of Norfolk is honorary chairman of the Democratic reception.
