After taking money, the man walked out the front door and got into a white compact vehicle driven by another person.

The robber is described as black with a medium complexion, in his 20s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, 140 pounds, clean-shaven with dark short hair. He was wearing a dark blue baseball cap, a dark blue light-weight jacket, a white T-shirt and gray sweat pants.

PORTSMOUTH

On July 5, in the 400 block of Roosevelt Blvd., Carlo L. Downey and two of his friends were chased in their vehicle to a house in the same block.

Two of the young men were shot on the back porch before they could get into the house. The third subject was followed inside the house by the suspects and shot.

All three victims were taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where, hours later, Downey died.

VIRGINIA BEACH

On Tuesday, Oct. 3, about 1:05 a.m., a 22-year-old man living in the 900 block of South Oriole Drive near Laskin Road answered a knock at his apartment door.

A man carrying a clipboard and wearing a white shirt with the word ``engineer'' on the pocket said he was there to check the water.

After checking the kitchen sink, the man pointed a small pistol at the victim's head. The victim struggled and was shot in the head. He suffered a grazing wound and was able to escape by running away.

The gunman is described as black, in his 20s, about 6 feet tall and 180 pounds with short black hair.

Witnesses saw two other men standing outside the apartment. Both are described as black, in their 20s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 165 pounds. One of them ran; the other rode a BMX bicycle.
