ANNE B. FOGLER

Anne Lou Beasley Fogler, 90, of Ocean Avenue, died Oct. 14, 1995, in her home.

Mrs. Fogler was a past president of the Garden Club of Norfolk and a member of the Virginia Beach Garden Club.

In 1966, Mrs. Fogler received the Zone VII Horticulture Award and in 1973 received the Zone VII Conservation Committee Certificate. Both of these awards were presented by the Garden Club of America. In 1974, she was the recipient of the most prestigious Delacy Gray Memorial Award for conservation presented by the Garden Club of Virginia for her outstanding efforts in saving Seashore State Park from development of sites and also for her successful experimental program of planting grasses on the dunes along the Oceanfront. She also served as a director of the Garden Club of America from 1978 to 1980.

Mrs. Fogler was a member of Galilee Episcopal Church in Virginia Beach.

Mrs. Fogler is survived by a son, Corydon Mercer Baylor Jr. of Virginia Beach; a stepdaughter, Valerie McConnell Hamill of Norfolk; two nephews, Jere L. Beasley and William M. Beasley, both of Alabama; five grandchildren, Elizabeth B. Oakley of Upper Montclair, N.J., Corydon M. Baylor III of Richmond, Kathryn L. Baylor of Ruckersville, Va., Kimberly A. Baylor of Norfolk, and Julia C. Baylor of Virginia Beach; a step-granddaughter, Margaret Hamill Smith; and five great-grandchildren.

A private family burial was held at Princess Anne Memorial Park on Monday, Oct. 16, 1995, conducted by the Reverend John Burley. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, handled the arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Beach SPCA, 3040 Holland Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23456 or any charity of your choice.
