VIVIAN STRINGFIELD

Mr. Vivian Stringfield, 73, of the 600 block of Maycox Ave., died Oct. 15, 1995, in a local hospital.

He was a retired engineer for Norfolk and Southern Railroad where he worked for 42 years. He was a native of Oakdale, Tenn., and was a member of Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, Local 456.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth Stringfield of Norfolk; three daughters, Vivian Dianne Smith of Virginia Beach, Judy Lynn Bonar of Fayetteville, Ga., and Sharon Kaye Stringfield of Fayetteville, Ga.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday by Dr. Vernon Murray in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
