Police have released a computer-generated sketch of a man suspected of assaulting a 15-year-old girl in the southeast community one week ago.
The assault occurred at about 6:35 a.m. in the 1100 block of 29th St. Police believe the man may be the same person who has assaulted more than 18 girls since 1991 in Newport News.
He is described as about 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a small frame and a long skinny face. He is cleanshaven and very dark skinned.
At the time of the Oct. 10 assault, he wore a black waist-length jacket, black pants and a black baseball cap. The suspect was last seen running in the 1100 block of 29th St. toward Roanoke Avenue.
