Martin L. Stephens, a retired supervisor from Borden Inc., died Oct. 16, 1995, after a long illness. He was 85 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby L. Stephens of Providence Road; three daughters, Mary N. McLeod of Chesapeake, Roberta M. Harrison of Hardy, Va., and Ruby L. James of Suffolk; one son, William L. Stephens of Chesapeake; three sisters, Oreener O'Quinn, Idell Ballard and Bessie Maxey; one brother, Leon Stephens, all of Wilmington, N.C. He had eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. Ernie Myers in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. Burial is in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
