VERNA L. GOODE

Verna Lee Goode, of the 1100 block of Logan St., died Oct. 15, 1995, in a local nursing home.

Mrs. Goode, the widow of George Alexander Goode, was a domestic worker and a cafeteria worker for Norfolk City School Board. She was a native of Norfolk County, Va., and a member of First Baptist Church, Bolling Brook. She was past president of the Deaconess Sisters and past president of the Pastors Aide and member of the Missionary Circle.

Survivors include two nieces, Theresa Walker of New York City, and Joyce Lee Everett of California; two nephews, Joseph Brooks of Florida and James Brooks of Norfolk; a special cousin, Council R. Webb of Norfolk; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in First Baptist Church, Bolling Brook, by the Rev. James Edwards III. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Friends may join the family at 7422 Diven St. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Saturday. Graves Funeral Home in charge. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
