JENNIE B. WHITE

Jennie Bomar White, 87, former resident of Newport News and the Willoughby area of Norfolk, died Oct. 16, 1995.

Mrs. White, the widow of Earl D. White, was a retired teacher for the Norfolk Academy and Garrison Williams Schools. She was a native of Spartanburg, S.C., and a member of Bayside Baptist Church. She was also a former active member of Ocean View Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Jane W. Gladden of King of Prussia, Pa.; one son, Dr. Earl D. White II of Williamsburg; eight grandchildren, Rebecca G. Burton, Susan G. Devaney, John C. Gladden, Kathryn A. Gladden, Jane W. Brickley, Robert E. White, Richard G. White, Robin A. White; and 14 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Dr. Richard K. Gladden and the Rev. Ellis E. O'Neal Jr. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lottie Moon Christmas Fund, c/o Bayside Baptist Church, 1920 Pleasure House Road, Virginia Beach or Westminster-Canterbury Fellowship Fund, 3100 Shore Drive, Virginia Beach. A memorial service will be held at Westminster-Canterbury Commons at 2 p.m. Friday.
