Mrs. Gladys V. Reid-Rabb, of the 2200 block of Florida Ave., died Oct. 16, 1995, in her residence after a short illness.
She was a native of Nansemond County and was preceded in death by her parents, Marie Whitaker-Reid and Linwood Reid Sr. She was retired from Norfolk Naval Supply, where she worked as a supply clerk. Mrs. Rabb attended Little Mount Zion Baptist Church, Suffolk, where she was past church secretary, member of the missionary, pastor aid, choir and deaconess.
She is survived by her husband, Robert W. Rabb; daughter, Mrs. Glenda B. Williams and husband, Percy O. Williams of Hyattsville, Md.; son, Mr. Beverly W. Rabb and wife, Bernice Rabb of Clinton, Md.; three sisters, Dollie M. Reid, Mildred R. Lassiter and Marie R. Duke, all of Suffolk; devoted ex-daughter-in-law, Linda D. Brown; brother, Mr. Lynn W. Reid of Suffolk; two aunts, Mrs. Josephine Brown of Suffolk, and Mrs. Lillie Wilson of Smithfield, Va.; uncle, Mr. Jimmy Reid of Buffalo, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Little Mount Zion Baptist Church by the Rev. Micheal Newby. Burial is in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The remains of Mrs. Rabb rest at Crocker Funeral Home, Suffolk. ILLUSTRATION: Personal Photo
