Frank Snead, 94, formerly of 2501 Ash St., died Oct. 17, 1995, in Autumn Care of Portsmouth.
He was a retired fireman for C & O Railroad with 30 years of service. Mr. Snead was a native of Hickory, Va., and was the widower of Ethel W. Snead. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Portsmouth.
He is survived by three nieces, Willie Mae Lawrence, Ethel Sykes, Lillie Johnson; four nephews, Wilford T. Snead, Hubert Snead, Vernon Snead, Charles T. Sneed; in-laws, Hortense Edwards, Lucille Jackson, Joseph Wynn, Mary J. Sneed, Mable Snead, Gladys Snead, Virgie Snead, and Ora Snead; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday by the Rev. Ben A. Beamer in Ebenezer Baptist Church, Portsmouth. Burial is in Olive Branch Cemetery. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at noon today. The body will be taken to the church prior to the funeral service. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. for the funeral service.
