A Florida woman died Tuesday from injuries suffered earlier in the day when her car collided with a truck on U.S. Route 460, police said.
The woman was identified Wednesday as Elizabeth A. Macavley from Bradenton, Fla.
The accident occurred at 11:55 a.m. Tuesday about a half-mile west of Route 258. Both vehicles were traveling west when the woman's Cadillac swerved into the truck's path, police said. The truck's driver tried to avoid the car, but the truck locked onto it and pushed it into a ditch.
The woman was flown to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where she died about 3:30 p.m.
