Police have identified a man who was shot Wednesday night in the 500 block of Adams Drive.
David E. Long, 20, of Henry Clay Road in Newport News was listed in critical condition Thursday at Riverside Regional Medical Center.
Long was walking with a companion shortly after 10 p.m. when he was approached by an assailant and shot at least one time, said Bobby Kipper, spokesman for the Newport News Police Department.
Kipper asked that anyone with information about the shooting call police at 247-8706 or Crime Line at 245-0755.
