Recently I was scanning the TV programs for an appropriate show. I happened upon ``The Simpsons.'' A church scene caught my eye. I was amazed to see the repulsive manner in which the preacher was portrayed as a money-grubbing person who terrorized children. What a wretched program! How can anyone under the guise of entertainment show ``The Simpsons'' to young children?
I have attended two Bible colleges, lived in 10 different states and known countless preachers, none of whom was in it for the money.
The show gave young children the impression that all the money they put in church goes to the preacher. He receives only his salary. Contributions go to feed the hungry and to the programs of the church and to missionaries in foreign lands. We, as Christians, must not allow our children to watch such trash.
