Frederick Birnie, 28, of the first block of Independence St., died Oct. 19, 1995, in Norfolk.
Mr. Birnie, an insulator for Marine Hydraulics, was born in Portsmouth.
Survivors include one daughter, Jasmine D. Stitt of Portsmouth; his parents, Gloria S. Birnie and Sideny Birnie of Portsmouth; one sister, Lotoya Birnie of Portsmouth; a grandmother, Rosa Williams of Portsmouth; and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Martin Luther King Memorial Methodist Church, Portsmouth, by the Rev. Reginald A. Early. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Serenity Funeral Home. Family and friends will assemble at 1317 Leckie St., Portsmouth, at 10:15 a.m. for the procession to the church.
