Gertrude Hooper Wise Craddock, 86, of Bayview Drive, died Oct. 19, 1995, in the residence of her nephew, Charles Meekins, in Stumpy Point.
Mrs. Craddock was born in Stumpy Point and was a homemaker. She also was an Avon Representative for over 20 years. Mrs. Craddock was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Hyde County Chapter (NU)213, and a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church in Stumpy Point, where she played the organ and piano for over 75 years. She was the daughter of the late C. Irving Hooper and Mrs. Francis Mason Hooper and was the widow of Hugh G. ``Chick'' Craddock. Mrs. Craddock was also preceded in death by her first husband, Tom Wise.
Survivors include one brother, Elbert Hooper of Chesapeake; and several nieces and nephews, including Archie E. Hooper of Shiloh, N.C.
A church service will be held today at 11 a.m. in the Shiloh United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ken Davenport. Burial will follow in the Mount Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Manns Harbor. The body will be placed in the church today at 10 a.m. The family will be at the home of her nephew, Charles Meekins, 182 Bayview Drive, Stumpy Point, N.C. Twiford's Colony Chapel, Manteo, in charge.
