Meredith Capraro, a 22-year-old music major at Elizabeth City State University, will have an original music composition performed today at a North Carolina Music Teachers convention in Chapel Hill.
Capraro, a Germantown, Md., native, is an ECSU senior who is double-majoring in music composition and music industry studies. A senior, she has previously won several music awards and scholarships.
``Meditation,'' Capraro's original composition for piano and clarinet, will be performed by Eugene Jones and Dr. Rachel Gragson of the ECSU music faculty at a North Carolina Music Teachers convention on the University of North Carolina campus.
Capraro, who plays alto saxophone as a primary instrument, won the Charles Penrose Outstanding Woodwind Player award in 1994. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
