Harold M. Driesse, 62, of the 5700 block of Brandon Blvd., died Oct. 20, 1995, in his residence.
He was a civil service meteorologist for the U.S. government until his illness. He was retired from the U.S. Navy where he served for 22 years as Senior Chief. He was a native of Peoria, Ill., and a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. He was a member of the Virginia Beach Elks Lodge, 2268; the Fleet Reserve; Fleet Weather Association; Naval Weather Service Association; and the Tidewater Weather Association.
He is survived by his wife, Yvette Margaret Driesse; five daughters, Dorothy Driesse Hale, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Patricia Slawson of Ft. Smith, Ark., Sandra Driesse Bunn of Clearwater, Fla., Margaret Ferichmann of Newark, Calif., and Karen Halloran of Virginia Beach; three brothers; six sisters; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Rosewood Memorial Park with Military Honors. Visitation at Kellum Funeral Home, Pleasant Hall, Kempsville Chapel, will be Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Judes Children Hospital.
