Lt. Cecil E. Decker, USN (Ret.), 69, died Oct. 18, 1995 at St. Vincent DePaul Hospital.
A native of Alabama and a resident of Norfolk since 1952, Mr. Decker served 31 years with the U.S. Navy in both an enlisted and an officer capacity. He served in World War II, the Korean Conflict, and Vietnam. We will remember him for his kindness, courage and wisdom.
Mr. Decker is survived by his wife, Nancy Ryan Decker; mother and sister, Lillian Decker Howington and Eva Decker Hampton, both of Albuquerque, N.M.; his children, Carl Eric Decker of Norfolk, Thomas Michael Decker of Fallsburg, N.Y., Edward William Decker of Blackwood, N.J., Nancy Decker Stephenson of Durham, N.C., Therese Michelle Decker Pearce of Norfolk; five grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and many friends.
The funeral services are private, to be followed by a military burial at sea at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the Navy Relief Society or St. Vincent DePaul Hospital. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
