Michael H. Schmitt has joined Dills Ainscough Duff Architects in Virginia Beach. He is a registered architect in North Carolina and Virginia.
ENGINEERING
Lamont Curtis was named senior vice president of URS Consultants Inc. in Virginia Beach. The company is a nationwide engineering, architectural, environmental and construction/program management organization. He has been with the company since 1984 and previously served as branch manager in the Virginia Beach office.
HOSPITALITY
Choice Hotels International appointed Kim O. Ellison as director of regional sales for Virginia. Based in Virginia Beach, she will be responsible for providing selling individual and group room nights for Quality, Comfort, Clarion, Sleep, Econo Lodge and Rodeway hotels. She was formerly director of sales and marketing for LTD Management Co. in Chesapeake. She also served as director of sales and marketing for the Quality Inn Lake Wright, Norfolk.
INSURANCE
Keith H. Cannon has joined Morgan-Marrow Environmental Insurance in Virginia Beach. He will be responsible for the development and administration of all pollution specialty programs brokered by the company. Before joining the firm, he was the assistant vice president of environmental programs and risk management services at Henderson & Phillips Insurance in Norfolk.
Bertrand C. Bilodeau Jr. was promoted to sales manager of American General Life and Accident Insurance Co. in Chesapeake. He started with the company as a sales representative earlier this year.
Sandra J. Kimerle was elected as state director-elect of the Virginia State Council of the National Association of Insurance Women. She is employed by Henderson & Phillips Insurance in Norfolk as a marketing coordinator.
MUSEUMS
Carroll L. Acors has joined Nauticus as director of finance. In his new position, he will supervise the financial activity of Nauticus, including financial planning and monitoring practices and procedures related to its operations. Previously, he served as director of finance for the City of Suffolk.
PERSONNEL SERVICES
Scott J. Coonan was named an attorney director of the Wallace Law Registry in Norfolk, a national legal services placement firm specializing in the temporary and permanent placement of lawyers and paralegals. He was a former law clerk to David H. Adams, United States bankruptcy judge in Norfolk. He joins Amy Butler Kallenbach, the director of the new business.
REAL ESTATE William H. Halprin was named property manager of the year by the Tidewater Builders Association. He is vice president and partner with S.L. Nusbaum Realty Co. and has been with the company since 1979.
PRODUCTION
Raymond W. Walsh and Charles Kramer have joined Metro Video Productions in Williamsburg. Walsh has joined the production company as the comptroller and business manager. Prior to this, he worked at Malvin, Riggins and Co., an accounting firm in Newport News, as a certified public accountant. Kramer has joined the staff as a video editor. He was a former senior editor and producer for the NASA Langley Research Center.
SERVICES
Scott A. Price was named vice president with Analysis & Technology Inc. in Chesapeake for their operational units within the Greater Hampton Roads region. He joined the defense contracting company in 1987 and most recently served as the senior manager of the Navy's Fleet Support Center in Chesapeake.
SHIPBUILDING
Scott D. Lacy has joined Newport News Shipbuilding as director of labor relations. He will be responsible for planning and directing the labor relations function for the company. He comes to the company from International Paper in Dallas where he was manager of human resources.
WHOLESALE
Ronald T. Fisher Jr. was appointed credit manager for Noland Co.'s export operations. He will be responsible for overseeing credit extension for all overseas sales. Before joining the Newport News wholesale distributor earlier this year, he worked for Old Dominion University and previously, for the Internal Revenue Service.
