Annie Murphy Grimstead, 82, of Moyock, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 1995, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
Mrs. Grimstead was born in Princess Anne County and was the daughter of the late Wilbur Lee Murphy Sr. and Goldie Estelle Brown Murphy. She was the widow of Martin N. Grimstead and was also predeceased by two of her sons, Marvin and Melvin Grimstead. She was a member of Bethel Christian Fellowship Church, Virginia Beach.
Survivors include her three daughters, Doris Miller, Ruth Miller and Susie Lawrence, all of Moyock; her four sons, Clarence Grimstead of Knotts Island, Earl Grimstead of Norfolk, Stanley Grimstead of Oklahoma and Ralph Grimstead of Shawboro, N.C.; 28 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Bethel Christian Fellowship Church, 1814 Indian River Road, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. Gary Bryant. Burial will follow in Charity United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight.
