Elijah L. Bailey Jr., 82, of the 800 block of Seminole Drive, died Oct. 21, 1995, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
Mr. Bailey, a native of Ivor, Va., was a son of Elizabeth Crawley Bailey and Elijah L. Bailey Sr. He retired from a peanut company and was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church. He was a Navy veteran.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Dixon of Pensacola, Fla., and Claudia Ross of Hampton; two sons, Alexander Bailey of Suffolk and Willard Bailey of Richmond; a sister, Amy Lee Wilson of Suffolk; 23 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Metropolitan Baptist Church by Dr. Melvin R. Boone. Burial will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Bailey, 802 Seminole Drive, Suffolk. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
