Betty Ann Shackelford, 74, died Oct. 22, 1995.
A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred J. Petzinger Sr. and a native of Portsmouth, she attended Churchland High School and The Westhampton College of The University of Richmond. She graduated in 1942. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Mortor Board and was selected as May Queen in 1942. She was a past president of Women's Aglow Fellowship Chapters in Houston and in Denver. For 30 years she taught Bible classes in various nursing homes.
She is survived by her husband, George H. Shackelford, a native of Hampton. Other survivors include a daughter, Lisa Moody; a son, George H. Shackelford, both of the Houston area; a brother, Fred Petzinger Jr. of Portsmouth; and five grandchildren. Private funeral services will be in the morning and memorial services in the afternoon at Encourager Church, 10950 Old Katy Road, Houston, Texas 77043 on Wednesday. Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.
