EVELYN B. MORRIS

Evelyn L. Briggs Morris, of the 7500 block of Rosefield Drive, died Saturday Oct. 21, 1995, in her residence among family and friends.

She was born June 11, 1941, and was the daughter of Hollis Briggs and the late Laura Barnes Briggs, and the widow of Sam L. Morris. She was a member of Zion Light Church of Christ, Norfolk, where she served on the Usher Board, Nursing Unit, Missionary Board, Pastor's Aid, and worked with the church food bank.

Survivors include two daughters, Felicia Y. Morris and Karla M. Morris; two sons, Samuel L. Morris Jr., and Terry T. Morris, all of Norfolk; one granddaughter, Felicia N. Morris; two grandsons, Travis L. Morris and Terrance B. Gaines all of Norfolk; step-mother, Eva Briggs, of Currie, N.C.; god father, Charlie Percer of Norfolk; three sisters, Barbara M. Dixon of Norfolk, Betty Toliver of Portsmouth and Faye Evans of Wilmington, N.C.; two brothers, Hollis Briggs of Atlanta, and Tamaja Briggs of Currie; step-brother, Daniel Murphy of Norfolk; foster daughter, Robin White of Norfolk; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Zion Light Church of Christ by Elder William Best. Interment will be in Jones Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. The remains will lie in state at the church from 11:45 a.m. until the hour of the service Thursday. Relatives and friends will assemble at the residence, 7523 Rosefield Drive, Norfolk, at noon. The family will receive friends at the church from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The remains may be viewed at Community Funeral Home, Norfolk. Tucker's Funeral Home, Petersburg, in charge of services.
