Police on Monday said they believe a teenager participated in the Oct. 19 shooting death of Phillip Wong Won, 19.
Because the suspect is a juvenile, police did not identify the 17-year-old boy other than to say he is a resident of Newport News.
Warrants have been taken out for him on murder and firearm-use charges, said Patricia L. Mahaffy, spokeswoman for the Newport News Police Department. Mahaffy said another man who police believe was with the teenage suspect when Won was shot is being sought.
Won's body was found by police on the morning of Oct. 19 in the driveway of a residence in the 100 block of Tillerson Drive in the Denbigh section.
