Sybil Jackson Martin, 74, of the 2500 block of Tait Court, died Oct. 23, 1995, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
She was retired from Miller & Rhoads Department Store after working 15 years in the Gift Wrap Department. She was a native of Norfolk. Mrs. Martin was a very cheerful and happy person. In her capacity as a professional gift wrapper, she could always bring a smile to the faces of the persons that she served, and with the beautiful gift in colorful paper, ribbons and bows, she was a joy to be around. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Mr. Walter Martin Sr., who predeceased her in May of 1992, and a loving mother to her son, Walter ``Junnie'' Martin.
She is survived by her son, Walter Martin Jr. of Norfolk, and her caring daughter-in-law, Deborah R. Martin.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday by Pastor Curtis Edmonds in Riddick Funeral Home. Burial is in Calvary Cemetery. The family will be at 2512 Tait Court.
