ROSALIND S. JIGGETTS

Rosalind S. Jiggetts, of the 1000 block of Wilcox Ave., died Oct. 22, 1995, in Portsmouth General Hospital.

She was a retired teacher for the Portsmouth City Public School System. She was a native of Portsmouth and was the widow of Edward B. Jiggetts. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church, Portsmouth, where she was a member of the Excelsior Club, Addie Somerville Missionary Circle, and was secretary of the Martha Douglass Missionary Society for four years. She was also a member of the Utopia Court (NU)279; member of Maids and Matrons Social Club; and Entre' Nous Bridge Club.

She is survived by one stepdaughter, Vera Jiggetts Banks of Washington, D.C.; devoted cousins, Dr. Thurman W. Stanback of Daytona Beach, Fla., Roland Ridley of Chesapeake, Va., Louval Stanback of Larry, Md.; and other cousins, Josephine Cook, Mary Washington, and Constance Forman, all of Norfolk; and Naomi Moton of Portsmouth.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday by the Rev. Joseph L. Roberts in Zion Baptist Church. Burial is in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at noon today. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Thursday. The family and friends will assemble at her residence for the funeral service.
