TEEN ACCUSED IN SLAYING

Police on Tuesday arrested a 17-year-old youth sought in the Oct. 19 shooting death of Phillip Wong Won, 19, in the Denbigh section.

The juvenile, who is not being identified because of his age, was taken into custody shortly before noon at his residence in Denbigh. He was charged with murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Another juvenile was interviewed, but he will not be charged, said Patricia L. Mahaffy, spokeswoman for the Newport News Police Department.

Won's body was found in the 100 block of Tillerson Drive.
