Johnie Mae Hammiel, 64, of the 1200 block of County St., died Oct. 20, 1995, in her home.
She was a native of Scotland Neck, N.C., and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Portsmouth.
Survivors include one daughter, Jean L. Mann of Chesapeake; two sons, Michael Hammiel and Richard Hammiel, both of Portsmouth; four sisters, Beulah Parker of Portsmouth, Corine Hammiel and Ethel Hammiel, both of Bronx, N.Y., and Minnie Johnson, Teaneck, N.J.; two brothers, Ernest Hammiel of Iselin, N.J., and G. Cecil Hammiel of Bronx; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one aunt, Mae D. George of Norfolk; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, including Henry Hammiel of Scotland Neck, and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Friday in Ebenezer Baptist Church by the Rev. Ben A. Beamer. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 10 a.m. today. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Friday.
