Joe Henry Dalton Jr., 93, of the 300 block of Dexter St., died Oct. 23, 1995, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
Mr. Dalton, a retired track laborer, worked for Norfolk and Western Railroad for 47 years. He was retired for 24 years. A native of Stoneville, N.C., he was the widower of Helen A. Dalton. He was a member of First Baptist Church, West Munden, and Prince Hall Masonic Providence Lodge 189.
Survivors include two daughters, Audrey D. Yeager, Duree C. Foote, both of Chesapeake; two sons, Henry V. Dalton and Godfrey E. Dalton, both of Chesapeake; two sisters, Novella D. Galloway and Brookxie Dalton, both of Stoneville; five brothers, Clarence Dalton, Mckinley Dalton, Eugene Dalton, all of Stoneville, Leonard Dalton, Reucker Dalton, both of New York; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several cousins and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. today in First Baptist Church, West Munden, by Dr. John L. Ashby. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Family and friends will assemble at 12:15 p.m. at 340 Dexter St., Chesapeake, for the procession to the church. Pretlow's Funeral Home in charge.
