These are the actions from the Norfolk City Council meeting Tuesday. All members were present. Unless otherwise noted, all actions were unanimous.

PUBLIC HEARING

On the application of Mary B. Hollomon and others to close part of Kenwood Drive. Approved.

CONSENT AGENDA

A letter on the application of Dixie Box and Crating Inc. for a change of zoning from C-2 (Corridor Commercial) to Conditional I-1 (Limited Industrial) at 3001 E. Princess Anne Road. Recommended action: Public hearing on Nov. 14. Approved.

A letter on the application of Endtime United Church for a change of zoning from R-7 (one family) to Conditional IN-1 (Institutional) at 6352 and 6360 Sewells Point Road. Recommended action: Public hearing on Nov. 14. Approved.

A letter on the application of Dacon Corp. for a change of zoning from R-12 (Medium Density Multiple Family) to R-8 (One Family) and the application of the Bayfront Residential Overlay District at 2408-2424 E. Ocean View Ave. Recommended action: Public hearing on Nov. 14. Approved.

A letter on the application of George W. Butler for an amendment to the Zoning Ordinance to permit alcoholic-beverage consumption establishments by special exception in the Open Space Preservation district. Recommended action: Public hearing on Nov. 21. Approved.

An ordinance authorizing operation of an establishment for sale of alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption at 5301 E. Princess Anne Road. (Delayed at Oct. 17 meeting.) Approved.

An ordinance approving a $29,493 grant for litter prevention, recycling and environmental education, from the state's Department of Environmental Quality, and appropriating funds. Approved.

An ordinance authorizing the city treasurer to docket a lien against certain lands or premises for expenses to abate nuisances. Approved.

An ordinance accepting with appreciation the donation of $5,300 from HQ Warehouse in support of the Hurricane Preparedness Guide. Approved.

An ordinance authorizing the amendment of the option and purchase agreement with Ford Motor Co. to buy property in Newton Park. Approved.

An ordinance vacating a portion of Terminal Avenue. Approved.

An ordinance accepting the offer of the commonwealth of Virginia, acting by and through the Virginia Port Authority, to buy property in the right of way of Terminal Avenue. Approved.

An ordinance approving a $1,653,118 Lead Hazard Reduction Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, appropriating such funds, and authorizing the hiring of four project employees under the grant. Approved.

An ordinance accepting the dedication of a pedestrian easement by O&R Building Inc. at the corner of Catalpa Street and Rolfe Avenue. Approved.

An ordinance approving the service agreement relating to the Hampton Roads Regional Jail. Approved, 6-1; Paul R. Riddick voted no.

An ordinance ratifying assessments against abutting landowners for the construction of granolithic sidewalks along both sides of Dogwood Terrace. Approved.

An ordinance accepting with appreciation the donation of the installation and equipment from Imagination Island Community Playground Inc. worth $104,184 for Imagination Island Playground at Northside Park. Approved.

An ordinance appropriating and authorizing the expenditure of $656,347 for further design work on the Public Health Building. Approved. by CNB
