ROSE GARDEN Tearoom and Gift Shoppe closed last month at the end of a one-year lease, when the building at 3116 Tyre Neck Rd. was put up for sale by the owner.
``I couldn't afford to buy the building and, because of commitments we had to make for future events, I couldn't stay there on a month-to-month lease,'' Rose Cater, the owner, said recently. ``Many of our customers were upset by the closing and I wish we could have kept going.''
Thisa Rose, an artist who displayed her work in the Rose Garden, still is working at the building, pending a sale. by CNB
