I picked up a copy of the Richmond Times-Dispatch and read several interesting articles on political races in Richmond, Henrico County and Hampton. In the meantime, the coverage here has been sparse. I hate to say it, but while your editorial page is always more balanced and thoughtful than Richmond's, your political coverage is lagging.
With the Republicans engaging in a well-funded attempt to gain control of the General Assembly, and with the obvious deep impact that would have on issues such as education and the environment, why the shoddy coverage? How is the average Joe on the street supposed to learn about candidates and figure out what is true? As Plato said, ``The penalty good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men.'' Come on guys! Do your jobs and keep us informed! These local races matter!
