Harold Edgar Ramsey, 76, of the 300 block of London Blvd., died Oct. 25, 1995.
He was a native of Mt. Nebo, W. Va., and was a member of Monumental United Methodist Church. Mr. Ramsey was a mason and member of the Shriners Kazim Temple, Roanoke, Va. He was also a member of the Virginia May Lodge (NU)38 AF/AM, Radford, Va., Pulaski Royal Arch Chapter (NU)39, Blacksburg Commandery (NU)32. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and World War II. He was retired.
He is survived by his wife, Julia V. Ramsey; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy R. and Bill Mann of Portsmouth; three sisters, Wilma Gorrell of Charleston, W.Va., Mary Watson of St. Louis, Mo., and Ethel Craig of Mt. Nebo; three brothers, Forrest Ramsey of Summersville, W.Va., Warren Ramsey of Harmony, W.Va., and Frank Ramsey of Lewisburg, W.Va.; and two grandchildren, Jessica Mann of London, United Kingdon, and Stephen Mann of Blacksburg, Va.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. Raymond Edmunds in Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel. The family will be at 4529 Templar Drive in Portsmouth today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The family has requested no flowers, but suggests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or to the charity of one's choice.
