James Thomas Holliman, 64, of the 23000 block of Antioch Road, died Oct. 23, 1995, in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
He was a native of Isle of Wight County and was preceded in death by his parents, James Trueheart Holliman and Carphine Parker-Holliman. He was retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation after 45 years and was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, Suffolk. He was formerly a member of the Spiritual Harmonizer of Windsor.
He is survived by his wife, Dalleaner P. Holliman; five sons, Thomas E. Holliman, Robert L. Holliman, both of Suffolk, Ray A. Holliman and Curtis L. Holliman, both of Windsor, and Frankie D. Holliman of Portsmouth; three sisters, Louise Whitfield and Georgie M. Warren, both of Smithfield, Va., and Lorretta Lankford of Windsor; three brothers, Alexander Holliman, Bennie Holliman, both of Windsor, and John Holliman of Suffolk; five daughters-in-law; and 11 grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted in Piney Grove Baptist Church at 1 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. H.I. Tucker. Burial will be in Tyler Cemetery, Windsor. The remains of Mr. James T. Holliman will lie in state from 11:30 a.m. until the hour of the service. Crocker Funeral Home, Suffolk, in charge.
