Media General Inc. said it completed the $230 million acquisition of a group of Virginia newspapers from Worrell Enterprises Inc. The Richmond-based newspaper and cable television company said the newspapers will be operated by Virginia Newspapers Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary. Terry Hall, publisher of the News & Advance of Lynchburg will be president of the unit. Media General announced its intention to buy the Virginia newspapers on Sept. 14. They include daily and Sunday newspapers in Charlottesville, Culpeper, Lynchburg and Suffolk, which have a combined circulation of 81,000 daily and 85,000 Sunday.
